Ascension Mont-Fort

Follow in the footsteps of pioneering alpinists and set out to conquer Mont-Fort!

At each stage of the ascent, from base camp to summit, you will encounter rugged landscapes shaped by elemental forces: water, wind, rock and ice.

The route leads you up to the summit of Mont-Fort, and to the heart of a fascinating mineral and ice panorama. This is a place where time stands still and allows you to take in breathtaking, enchanting views of majestic, glaciated peaks.

Access from Siviez / Nendaz or Verbier using the cable cars to the summit of Mont-Fort.

Leaflets are available at the cash desks and the tourist office. Either punch the appropriate square in your leaflet or scan the QR code in order to take part in the competition.

Rencontre avec un glacier

Whilst waiting for the second cable car at the Gentianes Pass (2894m), experience something rare: encounter a glacier!

A short footpath takes you on a journey to discover the history of the Tortin glacier. Before stepping onto the glacier itself to touch it, just observe and listen. Take the time to sit facing it, pondering what the future holds for this place.

Moving Mountains

You are going to experience a feast for the eyes!

At the summit of Mont-Fort, at an altitude of 3,330m, the Moving Mountains installation gives you information about the forces which shape the ever-changing landscape. Witness for yourself the destruction of the mountains, rediscover bygone glaciers and be enchanted by the stunning glaciated alpine summits; these majestic geological ruins.
